Belle Époque Diamond Bow Ring c.1910
RD199
£0.00
A fabulous Edwardian diamond 2 stone ring.
This beautiful ring has 2 beautifully matched old cut diamonds set within a stylised bow design.
The diamonds are finely claw set in low coronet mounts. The 'bow' is set with rose cut diamonds around a central small old cut diamond. This elegant ring has further rose cut diamond detailing to the shoulders onto a plain shank.
The ring has a fine milgrain edge typical of the early 20th Century and was designed as a statement piece to be worn on its own. It is beautifully low set to the hand and is in excellent condition. A great example of the workmanship typical of the Belle Époque period.
The term Belle Époque is taken from the French for “Beautiful Era".
Belle Époque jewellery was made during the first 15 years of the 20th century, inspired by motifs popular during the rule of Louis XIV. Platinum replaced the heavier silver mountings of the Victorian era, allowing gemstones to appear in delicate-yet-strong settings that provided optimum light, airiness and beauty.
Bows, swags and garlands were the favoured motifs of the period which was known as a time of elegance and opulence.
