Edwardian Bombé Diamond Ring c.1910
RD173
£0.00
An unusual Edwardian diamond solitaire ring.
This fabulous bombé style ring has a cushion cut diamond in a gypsy setting to the centre of a wide gold band. There is a large openwork back allowing the light into the stone.
This design, known as bombé is unusual for the early Edwardian era becoming popular in the 1930's. The name 'bombé' comes from the French and literally means 'bomb-shaped.'
Bombé rings are usually smooth and rounded. The dictionary definition of the bombé shape is, 'curving or swelling outward' and this is exactly the aesthetic of antique bombé rings
The ring is very comfortable when on the hand and perfect for everyday wear.
