Edwardian Diamond & Enamel Violet Brooch c.1910
An elegant Edwardian enamel stylised Violet brooch.
The brooch depicting a violet flower is finely enamelled in pink and white enamel to represent the petals and is set with an oldcut diamond to the centre in a milgrain edge. The violet is associated with modesty in the meaning of flowers.
The brooch has a folding loop attachment to the reverse allowing it to also be worn as a pendant. The brooch is probably American in origin and the enamel is in perfect condition.
