A quirky Edwardian brooch with an owl sitting within a crescent moon.

 

The owl is realistically formed and has emerald eyes. This lovely brooch is made from platinum and gold typical of the era.

 

Owls were thought to represent wisdom and vigilance in Victorian and Edwardian times and were popular motifs in the jewellery of this time.
