Edwardian Pearl Pelican Bar Brooch c.1910
A quirky Edwardian novelty brooch modelled as a pelican.
The bird has a baroque natural pearl shaped as the body with a textured gold head, bill and feet. The pelican has a cabochon ruby set to the eye and is mounted on a rose gold bar with safety clasp to the reverse.
This brooch was made by Alabaster & Wilson who were well known for making novelty design brooches in the Edwardian era.
The pelican could be easily converted into a pendant if required.
