Edwardian Ruby & Diamond Crowned Luckenbooth Brooch c.1900
The luckenbooth was a traditional Scottish love token often given as a betrothal or wedding brooch. It has two entwined witches hearts used to protect the receiver from harm and represents a comitted relationship. This brooch dates from the early Edwardian era and has finely set rubies and diamonds cut-down set in silver and gold. It is in beautiful condition. The brooch has a sprung pin to the reverse.
