Georgian Citrine & Pearl Brooch c.1790
A stylish late 18th century citrine and pearl brooch.
The cushion cut citrine is foiled to the reverse, a technique used in the 18th and early 19th century to reflect light into the gemstone. It is surrounded with a border of finely matched seed pearls.
The brooch has a closed gold domed reverse and a simple sprung pin typical of the Georgian era. It is in beautiful conditon with no staining to the pearls.
