Georgian Gold Chain c.1780
A fabulous late 18th Century gold chain necklace.
This beautiful Georgian chain is made up of a series of wide round links each with beadwork and lattice decoration. The links are all curved and plain to the internior typical of the era.
The chain has a beautiful highly decorated barrel shaped clasp with scrollwork and floral decoration. This has a tongue type fitting and is in fabulous condition.
The chain is probably a section from a much longer guard chain. Genuine original chains of this era are increasingly hard to source. It is unmarked and tests as high carat (18ct) gold.
