Georgian Amethyst & Pearl Clasp c.1810
A fabulous large Georgian amethyst & pearl clasp.
The clasp has an emerald-cut pale amethyst to the centre within a fine border of half pearls. The clasp is curved to the reverse and has closed setting to the amethyst typical of the era.
The clasp, which can be strung for 1 to 3 rows of pearls (or beads) has a tongue style catch with an integral thumb piece which is hidden when closed, and has a good strong snap being secure when used.
The clasp is in fabulous condition and is a great oversized example of its type.
