Georgian Pearl, Diamond & Ruby Ring c.1800
This beautiful example of a Regency Ring has a small old cut diamond in cut-down silver set to the centre surrounded by 6 natural large seed pearls and 6 tiny rubies in a flower design.
The ring is flanked by a shell motif to the top of each shoulder with floral engraved sides. The shank has a flower carved to each side and a reeded back. The ring might have had a locket back originally but this has long since disappeared.
The ring is in beautiful condition and is a rare piece being a large example of its kind.
In common with the vast majority of Georgian pieces this ring is a dress ring and will not take 'heavy' wear being over 200 years old. Rings of this age and in this condition are increasingly hard to find.
