Georgian Pearl Locket Clasp c.1800
A fabulous Georgian pearl clasp.
The clasp has a central locket section with plaited hair within a border of half pearls. This is a typically Georgian design and has a closed curved back. (The hair can be removed if requested). There is an engraved initial to the reverse (J E W).
The clasp (for 1 to 6 rows depending on the size of the bead) has a tongue style catch which is hidden when closed, and has a good strong snap being secure when used.
