A really unusual silver wine taster with an Elizabethan coin inset to the base.

 

A 'tasse du vin' (taste of wine) is used by sommeliers to take the first taste from a bottle of wine. 

 

This Edwardian taster is in beautiful conditon and was made by London silversmiths D & J Welby limited, unusually an Elizabethan coin has been inset into the base making it a truly unique item.

 

It is fully hallmarked to the rim and in wonderful condition.
