Victorian Aesthetic Movement Gold Brooch c.1880
A stylish late Victorian gold Aesthetic movement brooch.
This unusual brooch is made in yellow and rose coloured gold and uses 3 different texures in an ornate circular design.
The brooch has a quarted section with an overlaid floral design in the Shibayama style popular at the time. The brooch has two intricate outer borders, one in an applied openwork style and the other in polished gold. There is a finely made fretwork detail to the edge.
This wonderfully wearable brooch has a handmade gold pin and an unusual rounded catch with a domed pin protector.
