MEET THE TEAM
Andrew & Catherine
Andrew started in the jewellery business by completing a jewellers apprenticeship “at the bench” before going on to study Gemmology at the famous St. John Cass College in London. In 1988 he was accredited as a Fellow of the Gemmological Association.
Andrew then worked for a diamond dealer in London’s Hatton Garden gaining valuable experience in the trade before embarking on a career in antique jewellery which continues to this day. He worked at a number of specialist antique jewellers in London including SJ Phillips, McKenna’s and Bentley & Skinner where he ran their shop in the famous Burlington Arcade.
" We have always bought items that we love ourselves which means we have a pride in every piece we sell. "
After a number of years selling primarily to the trade in London, Andrew set up his own business, Trivette, in 1998 exhibiting at fairs across the country. We have been a member of the main governing body for Antiques dealers, LAPADA, ever since.
"Choosing the perfect piece of jewellery can be a daunting experience; we have years of experience and can help advise you with every stage of the process."
Catherine joined the business in 2006 and our website was launched in 2008. In 2016 we opened our shop in the heart of Shrewsbury, Shropshire and changed our trading name to Thomas Glover (a combination of our family names). Specialising in wearable period pieces from the Georgian era to the 1960’s we are known within the jewellery trade for a range of quality wearable items that are in beautiful condition regardless of their value. We do not deal in reproductions or imitations and carefully select only the finest examples for our collection.
