Art Deco Mother of Pearl 'Button' Dress Set c.1935
A stylish Art Deco gentlemans 'dress' set complete with its original fitted case by Charles Fox.
The set, originally designed for a 'white tie' outfit comprises a set of cufflinks, 4 buttons and two dress studs. The set is elegant and beautifully wearable.
Each octagonal link is made from mother of pearl with a gold 'thread' to the centre forming a button motif. The link is fronted in white gold with a yellow gold reverse typical of the era.
The dress set has a pair of stylised octagonal cufflinks, the cufflinks are joined by an eliptical linking bar attached to reverse. Each button has a yellow gold loop to the reverse and a metal fastener typical of the era. The round dress studs unscrew.
The set is in wonderful condition. It was made by Cropp and Farr who were a well known London maker of jewellery formed in 1938 who traded thoughout the 20th Century.
