Art Nouveau Emerald & Diamond Ring c.1905
An unusual Art Nouveau emerald and diamond 2 stone ring.
This beautiful ring has an old cut emerald and an old cut diamond set within an abstract Art Nouveau scrolled design.
The ring is finely made with old-cut and rose-cut diamonds set within a rub over platinum border, the main gemstones being claw set. The emerald is a wonderful rich green colour and in our opinion probably originates from Colombia. The diamond shoulders flow into a plain shank with a grooved detail.
The ring is really low set to the hand and would have been designed to be worn on its own. We would advise that this fabulous ring is not ideal for heavy everyday wear due to the finesse of the design.
Genuine Art Nouveau rings of this type are very unusual and increasingly hard to find.
