A stylish Art Deco travel 'purse' watch by Ebel.
This unique style steel watch which typifies the late Art Deco era is in wonderful condition. Often carried in a purse this was considered a travel watch as you would keep safely it in your travel case or purse and set it next to your bed when required.
The original champagne face has applied gold Deco style numerals and hour markers. There is a black outer minute track and the watch has gilt lance hands. The dial is marked EBEL. The reverse of the watch is stamped EBEL WATCH Co SWISS with associated numbers.
The watch folds together to hide the watch face and is wound by opening and closing the alligator style leather bound case (or using the winding crown).
The Swiss mechanical movement has been fully serviced and is in good working condition. It has two buttons one on each side that you press together to open the case and snaps tightly closed. There is a loop to attach to a ribbon or chain.
Ebel was started in 1911 by Eugène Blum Et Alice Lévy in the heart of the Swiss Jura region, they are still going today.
