An elegant and unusual French antique fancy guard chain.
The long chain comprises a series of fettler (elongated) and 4 textured oval links around its length. There is an original large bolt ring to one end allowing the wearer to attach a charm or fob.
It can be worn doubled or tripled up and is a lovely weight.
These long chains are always such a versatile and wearable addition to any jewellery collection. This wonderful example is French marked, in super condition and is perfect for layering.
Era: Edwardian, 1901 - 1920
Measurements: Chain 148 cm (58 inches) in length, 22 grams in weight
Hallmarks: French montrol mark (Eagles Head) for 18ct gold to end rings and bolt ring.
Chain tests as 18ct gold.
