Victorian 10 carat gold guard chain c.1890
An unusual smooth linked, heavy weight Victorian guard chain with an albert swivel to the base.
This beautiful polished oval belcher link chain is perfect for layering and can be worn extra long, or wound 2 or 3 times around the neck.
It is in great condition.
10 carat gold is an unusual standard and was made in the mid to late Victorian era in the UK. In 1932 gold hallmarks were standardised and 10ct, 12ct and 15ct were replaced with 9ct and 14ct gold.
