Victorian Sapphire & Diamond 7 Stone Ring c.1900
A stylish late Victorian sapphire and diamond 7 stone ring.
This lovely ring has a cushion cut sapphire set to the centre with two small old cut diamonds to either side and a smaller cushion cut sapphire to each end.
The sapphires are a wonderful colour, all beautifully matched and a good bright rich blue in colour (assumed natural colour Sri Lankan in origin). The ring has a very finely carved under-bezel and scrollwork shoulders onto a tapered yellow gold shank.
This was a design very popular in the late Victorian and Edwardian periods - it sits neatly on the hand and is easy to wear.
The ring is beautifully low set to the finger and wearable on an everyday basis. It would make a perfect engagement ring.
