A classic late Victorian novely stockpin.
The stylised fly has a soft blue sapphire body with a pearl set abdomen and pearl 'wings'. The fly and is beautifully made with gold eyes and legs.
The fly is mounted onto a strong gold stockpin with a bullnose end.
The fly symbolises strength and was a popular motif in Victorian jewellery.
Era: Victorian, 1839 - 1901
Measurements: Sapphire estimated 0.20 carats
Brooch pin 3.6cm (1 7/8") in length, Fly 1.7cm (5/8") wide
