A beautiful and realistic carved hardstone brooch designed as a double leafed sprig of Holly.
The brooch is Austrian and has a finely made diamond-set spine and stem with two red 'berries' also made from hardstone. The reverse is beautifully engraved and the brooch has an intergral safety clasp typical of the era.
Era: Art Deco, c.1925 - 1940
