Art Deco Diamond 2 Stone Ring c.1930
An unusual Art Deco diamond 2 stone ring.
This elegant ring has 2 beautifully matched old cut diamonds set within diamond set 'split' shoulders. The diamonds are finely claw set in platinum with the smaller diamonds in a milgrain setting to the shoulders.
The ring is beautifully ow set to the hand with the tapered shoulders onto a plain white gold shank typical of the era. It is in fabulous condition, perfect for everyday wear and would make a wonderful unique engagement ring.
This design is a stylised version of the "toi et moi" or 'you and me' design. With the two principle stones representing two hearts or souls entwined. It was popularised in France in the late 18th Century by Napoleon who gave his wife Josephine a ring of a similar design as an engagement ring.
