A stylish Art Deco diamond cluster ring.
This elegant ring has a series of 10 large old-cut diamonds mounted in a classic marquise (or navette) cluster design. The diamonds are finely spitch set in platinum, with rose-cut accents at each end.
The two central diamonds are whiter than the surrounding ones, which have a warmer tone, which we believe would have all come from an earlier piece of jewellery.
This would have probably been an earlier Victorian piece of sentimental jewellery which was recrafted into a modern design in the early 1930's. The mix of the warmer and whiter diamonds makes this beautiful ring a truly unique piece. Old-cut diamonds like these with a warmer colour would have come from the Cape (South Africa) and were highly prized for their unique characteristics and purity.
The ring has a beautifully handmade scalloped under-bezel and is open to the reverse.
The ring has tapered plain shoulders which flow into a plain gold shank. Typical of the period, the ring is really low set to the hand and finely made.
This lovely ring is beautifully wearable on an everyday basis and would make a wonderful, unique engagement ring.
