An incredibly stylish pair of Art Deco diamond set 'wing' dress clips.
Each clip has 4 baguette diamonds to the top radiating from an old cut diamond. The clips are formed in a stylised wing design set with smaller diamonds each in milgrain setting. They are beautifully made and have openwork backs set with small spikes to the inside to hold the clip in place on the fabric when worn.
These lovely clips are designed to be worn next to each other on one side of a dress or top. They make a fabulous statement when worn.
Dress clips were very popular items of jewellery from the 1920's to the 1950's. Hollywood played a part in spreading the trend for dress clips with stars such as Marlene Dietrich & Lana Turner wear clips on screen. This lead to women wanting to adorn their necklines, the straps of an evening gown, hat and sometimes even a bag with a glittering jeweled clip.
