Art Deco Emerald and Diamond Target Ring c.1930
£5,000.00
A striking Art Deco emerald and diamond target cluster ring,
The ring has a central old cut diamond set within a border of 8 slightly smaller old cut diamond all tightly set together in a fine platinum grain setting. This gives the illusion of one large diamond.
The diamonds are surrounded by a fine border of calibre cut emeralds in a rubover setting. The gemstones all have a fine milgrain edge typical of the Art Deco era.
The ring is open to the reverse with a low-set, shaped gallery. It has plain tapered shoulders onto a plain shank and is very low set to the hand.
We would not recommend that this elegant ring be worn as an everyday engagement ring, as emeralds are a softer gemstone, and the calibre setting makes the ring more delicate. It is a fabulous example of the jewellery of the period, being beautifully made and in wonderful condition. It was originally designed to be worn on its own as a cocktail ring in the stylish 1930's.
