Art Deco Gold Bracelet c.1940
£4,250.00
A stylish late Art Deco gold bracelet.
This beautiful bracelet has a series of double interlinked oval open panels each joined by a wide gold section. The bracelet is beautifully articulated and features a hidden, integral clasp that doesn’t show when worn. It has a safety chain attached that could be removed if required
The bracelet is in good condition. The style is very typical of the late Deco designs of the late 1930's early 1940's with gold the predominant metal of choice at this time.
The bracelet is Portuguese and made from 19.6 carat gold - an unusual gold standard that was popular in quality jewellery made in Portugal until the 1960's. This makes it a richer colour and slightly softer than standard 18 carat gold.
Era: Art Deco 1920 - 1940
Measurements: Bracelet 19 cm long (7.5 inches) in length, 1.6cm (5/8") at the widest point,
22.3 grams in weight.
Hallmarks: Portuguese assay marks for 19.6 carat gold post 1938
