£0.00
A stylish French Art Deco fabcy guard chain by Fix. The chain has oval links each with a knotted figure 8 design to the centre. It was made in France using the “Fix” process. This is rolled gold, in which 3 layers consisting of a plate of copper between two thin plates of gold is compressed between rollers to the required thickness and then stamped into the form of the jewellery.
Companies such as Fix, Murat and Oria formed in the mid 19th century, specialised in high quality rolled gold jewellery. They allowed people to wear jewellery that looked like it was made of gold at a franction of the price of the 'real thing'.
The plate is in fabulous conditon - as is the the chain. It has a bolt ring allowing for a fob or charm to be suspended from the base if required.
