A stylish Art Deco jade ring.
This beautiful ring has an oval jade panel in a 4 double claw setting within finely detailed shoulders each set with a small diamond. The jade is a lovely soft green in colour.
Typical of a ring from this era is it finely made and low set to the finger.
Jade was a popular choice for Art Deco jewellery following Cartier's extensive use of the stone in the early 1920's. The gemstone is revered in Chinese society where Confucius praised jade as a symbol of righteousness and knowledge. In Chinese culture Jade is customarily thought to influence health and prosperity, and ward off negative energy.
