Art Deco Pearl and Diamond Drop Earrings c.1930
£3,950.00
A very elegant pair of Art Deco pearl & diamond drop earrings.
These beautiful earrings each have a 'bouton' pearl to the top suspending a finely made diamond set section with an openwork fan motif to the base with another pearl articulated from the end. The pearls are assumed to be natural saltwater, they are beautifully matched and have a wonderful lustre.
The earrings have post and butterfly fittings for pierced ears. They move freely when worn and have to be seen to be fully appreciated.
Bouton pearls are flat to one side - these natural saltwater pearls were favoured during the early 20th century to differentiate them from the new invention of round cultured (Akoya) pearls which were becoming popular at the time.
