Art Deco Rectangular Enamel Cufflinks c.1927
A stylish pair of rectangular Art Deco 18ct gold enamelled cufflinks.
Each cufflink comprises a central rich blue guilloche enamel panel within a gold and white enamel border. The blue panel has an interlocking chevron design.
These beautiful cufflinks have a lovely weight and are plain to the reverse with a chain link typical of the era. They are in great condition.
The cufflinks are made by Cropp & Farr a prolific British jeweller founded in 1917. This London based firm created beautiful jewellery throughout the 20th Century, each bearing the firms’ maker’s mark ‘C&F’ in a rectangle. They were characterised by excellent workmanship and unique designs.
In the 1947 British Industries Fair, Cropp & Farr were listed as “Manufacturers of Fine Quality Inexpensive Gem-Set Jewellery, specialising in coloured stones and diamonds. Aquamarines, Topaz, Zircons, etc also Gold Jewellery, Signets, Sporting Brooches, Charms, Cuff-Links and Gents’ Dress Sets”.
