Bombé Sapphire and Diamond Ring c.1950
£3,950.00
A stylish sapphire and diamond floral ring.
A charming sapphire and diamond ring in a bombé (domed) style. The ring comprises seven textured gold flower heads each centred with a round cabochon sapphire in a claw setting. The central flower head is encircled by six single-cut diamonds in platinum claw settings, creating a lovely contrast.
The cluster is mounted on a finely fluted gold shank, typical of the sculptural jewellery designs of the 1950s and 1960s.
The ring has a wonderful bombé form that sits proudly on the finger while remaining highly wearable. It would have originally been designed to wear on its own as a statement 'cocktail' ring.
There are French control marks and a makers stamp to the back.
