A quirky Edwardian novelty almond pendant.
The beautifully realistic gold pendant/charm is designed as a 3-D almond which opens with a hidden hinge to one side and has two 'kernels' inside one of which is engraved with a date '10 FÉVRIER 1901'. It was made at the beginning of the 20th century and is in fabulous condition with no dents or damage. The charm has French import marks
In the late 19th and early 20th Century the flowering almond was a symbol of hope.
The almond has a runner ring to the top for a chain or ribbon. We can supply a chain if required (at an additional cost).
Era: Edwardian, 1901 - 1920
Measurements: Pendant 1.4cm (1/2") in width, 2.2cm (5/8")in length including bale.
