Georgian Garnet Flower Earrings c.1810
ER164
£0.00
A fabulous pair of late Georgian flat cut garnet earrings.
These beautiful earrings are an elegant Regency design with a series of flat-cut almandine garnets set into an open 5 petalled flower (probably a pansy) with a central garnet.
Each garnet is foiled to the reverse in a closed 'cut down' setting. The flower is suspended from a long shepherds hook. The hook fittings for pierced ears are typical of the age.
The earrings move beautifully when worn and are in wonderful condition.
These stylish earrings may originally have been part of a much larger set of jewellery, they are assumed to be English in origin and date from c.1800-1820.
Era: Georgian, 1714 - 1837
Measurements: Earrings 4.1 cm in length (excluding hook),
4.9cm in length from top of hook, 1.6 cm wide.
5.4 grams in weight (pair)
Hallmarks: Unmarked, tests as 9ct gold
