A classic pair of large Victorian coral button earrings.
The earrings each have a large coral bead mounted in a gold cup fitting on the reverse. The earrings have post and butterfly fittings for pierced ears. The coral is a beautiful rich colour
Coral was a popular choice for jewellery in the Victorian era, as it was often bought as a tourist item when travelling as part of the 'Grand Tour' from warmer countries such as Italy.
Era: Victorian, 1837 - 1901
Measurements: Earrings 1.2 cm in diameter
Hallmarks: Reverse is stamped 375, London, with an indistinct date letter; 2nd back stamped with SCW maker's mark
