Victorian Diamond Knot Brooch c.1880
An elegant Victorian diamond knot brooch.
The brooch has an old cut diamond in a fine 6 claw coronet mount to the centre of a stylised hollow gold double wreath knot. There is a sprung pin to the reverse typical of the era.
The construction is typical of the late 19th Century and the brooch has its original fitted case by Mackay & Chisholm, Edinburgh.
Era: Victorian, 1839 - 1901
Measurements: Diamond estimated 0.35 carats.
Brooch is 3.8 cm (1.5 inches) in width, 1.5cm (5/8 inch)in length, it weighs 5.8 grams
Hallmarks: Unmarked - tests 15ct gold, stamped 912
