Victorian Forget Me Not Ring c.1890
An unusual late Victorian forget me not ring
This dainty ring has an oval agate with a carved 'forget me not' flower in relief to the centre. The white band of the agate is exposed showing the details of the flower against the black stone. The central section is surrounded with a border of 10 seed pearls (untested assumed natural) in a cluster design.
The head of the ring is finely mounted in a yellow gold rubover setting and is complemented with pearl set tapered shoulders onto a plain gold shank
We believe the pearls are all original. They are typical of the era with a slight variation in colours and a lovely warm lustre. The ring sits low to the hand.
This lovely ring is delicate in nature due to the materials used in its construction and as such we do not recommend wearing it on an 'everyday' basis.
