Victorian Garnet Earrings circa.1880
£1,150.00
A beautifully detailed pair of Victorian garnet earrings.
These lovely earrings each have an oval mixed cut almandine garnet in a closed 'foiled' back. The earrings have beadwork decoration and a finely hand made gallery.
The setting echos an earlier 18th century design as was frequently seen in the 19th century.
The earrings are light typical of the Victorian era making them easy to wear and have hook fittings for pierced ears.
The fittings have been changed to hooks for pierced ears at some stage. We believe they may have originally had screw fittings.

Measurements: Earrings 2.5cm (1") in length (from top of hook),
1.2cm (1/2") wide
5 grams in weight (pair)
