Victorian Natural Pearl Enamel Snake Pin c.1900
An oversized Victorian enamel and pearl snake stickpin.
The snake is a beautifully detailed blue enamel design curled around a large pearl (untested very probably natural). The snake has red enamel eyes. The pearl is claw set. It has a very long heavy weight gold pin and makes an impact when worn.
The ouroboros, a circular depiction of a snake swallowing its own tail is a symbol of eternity.
The stickpin has its original fitted box by Webber of London.
