A large Victorian painted plaque with a realistic depiction of a terrier (possibly a Westie).
 
The plaque has a beautiful gold border with a ropetwist design. The back of the plaque has a painted inscription 'U ESSEX 1863'.  Overall the pin in lovely condition with a slight scuffing to the paint on the dog.
 
Era: Victorian, 1839 - 1901
Measurements: Pin 9.0cm in length, Plaque 2.0cm in length, weight 5.3 grams
Hallmarks: Unmarked - tests as gold
