Victorian Pearl and Diamond Heart Locket circa 1880
£2,500.00
A beautiful late 19th-century heart locket.
This lovely buttery yellow gold pendant is pavé-set with seed pearls on the front around a central old-cut diamond. The heart is open to the back and in wonderful condition. It has a handmade heart-shaped glazed locket back to the reverse for a small photo or lock of hair.
The locket has its original gold runner ring for a chain or ribbon. This elegant piece is beautifully made and as wearable today as it was in the Victorian era. Romantic jewellery was especially beloved during the Victorian era, and this finely crafted piece is a wonderful example of that sentiment.
