Victorian Pearl & Diamond Double Heart Brooch c.1890
A fabulous late Victorian diamond and pearl heart brooch in its original fitted case.
This beautiful locket backed brooch is hand crafted in gold with a red guilloche enamel section with an applied natural pearl and rose cut diamond double heart motif to the centre. The diamonds are mounted in a silver setting. The brooch has a fine white and gold enamel border to the outer edge in a design typical of the late Victorian era.
The brooch has its original glazed heart shaped locket to the reverse with the original silk lining. There is a simple sprung gold pin to the back.
This elegant brooch has its original fitted red case by 'London & Ryder, 17 New Bond St London'. The case has a wonderful Gothic gilt cypher A M monogram to the front.
The brooch is finely made and would have been given as a lovers gift with the heart motifs representing eternal love.
