A beautiful Victorian gemset brooch.
The brooch comprises three circles, each set with a central rose-cut diamond in a floral motif, within a border of four cabochon turquoise in claw setting.
The circles are accented by two pearls.
The brooch is characteristic of late Victorian sentimental jewellery, the turquoise symbolic of friendship and close emotional bonds. and symbolising the remembrance and forget-me-not.
The brooch has a simple sprung pin to the reverse, typical of the era and has its original fitted case by Percy Edwards & Company, Piccadilly, London.
Era: Victorian, 1839 - 1901
Measurements: Brooch 3.9cm in length, 1.0cm at widest point.
Brooch 4.6 grams in weight
Hallmarks: No assay marks - tests as 18ct gold.
