A sweet Victorian horseshoe brooch.
The brooch is set with nine beautifully matched cabochon turquoise within a textured setting and is plain to the reverse.
The brooch has a simple sprung pin to the reverse and is characteristic of late Victorian sentimental jewellery. Turquoise symbolises friendship and close emotional bonds. The horseshoe was also a popular symbol at this time brining the wearer luck.
Era: Victorian, 1839 - 1901
Measurements: Brooch 2.0cm in height, 2.2cm in width. 2.6 grams in weight.
Hallmarks: No assay marks - tests as 15 carat gold.
