Art Deco Diamond Angel Wing Earrings c.1940
A beautiful pair of late Deco earrings stylishly designed as a pair of angel wings. Each earring is finely set with small diamonds in a feather design curving around a diamond and 2 baguette-cut diamonds set in a square.
The earrings curve beautifully up the ear in a stylised wing design with a beautiful effect when worn.
Angels and Angel wings have long been associated with protection, affection and harmony. References to wings and protection date from Ancient Egypt and Greece along with the Hindu and Aztec peoples. In Christianity, Angel wings are seen as the purest expression of winged spirit.
These beautiful earrings have clip and post fittings to the reverse. (The posts could be removed if required to be worn purely as clips). They have French import marks to the fittings (owls head).
