A stylish Art Nouveau turquoise brooch by Mürrle Bennett & Co.
This beautiful brooch has an oval matrix turquoise at the centre set within a gold stylised shield design.
The brooch has a simple sprung pin to the reverse, typical of the era.
The renowned wholesale jewellery business of Murrle Bennett (Ernst Mürrle and J.B.Bennett) opened in London as Siegele & Bennett in 1884 advertising in 1891 as 'manufacturers and importers of British and Foreign jewellery also at 39 Bleich-strasse, Pforzheim'.
The firm was renamed Murrle, Bennett & Co and supplied jewellery to Liberty & Co in London.
