A stylish Georgian specimen agate brooch.
The large oval slightly facetted agate has a beautiful natural pattern in browns and white and is simply mounted in a fine gold mount with triple 'claw' details typical of the Georgian era.
The brooch has a simple hinged pin to the reverse typical of the pieces from this era. It is in lovely condition and a fabulous example of Georgian craftsmanship.
Era: Georgian, 1714 - 1837
Measurements: Brooch 5.5cm in width, 2.2cm at highest point.
The brooch weighs 5.4 grams
Hallmarks: no assay marks, brooch tests as 15ct gold with metal pin
