Georgian Garnet Tablet Ring c.1810
An unusual Georgian tablet ring.
The ring is set with an octagonal cut almandine garnet within a raised gold double border. This beautiful ring is engraved around the head and has intricate fleur-de-lys engraving on the triple split shoulders.
The garnet is in a closed setting typical of the Georgian era and sits low to the hand. It is in great condition for a ring of this age, there are some very slight solder marks to the reverse of the ring possibly from an early repair.
This ring, in common with the vast majority of Georgian pieces is a dress ring and will not take 'heavy' wear being over 200 years old. Rings of this age and in this condition are increasingly hard to find.
