A beautifully detailed pair of gemset Victorian earrings.
These stylish earrings have filigree work knots suspended from a hinged fitting topped with a gold leaf design. Each earring is set with a garnet and chrysolite to the centre and has an articulated garnet drop to the base.
The knots are finely detailed with gold overlay work and the earrings are lightweight, typical of the Victorian era making them easy to wear.
The earrings retain their original gilding but the fittings have been changed to post and butterfly at some stage as they originally were probably hooks.
