A stylish Regency Swiss enamel stickpin.
The painted enamel panel is a portrait of a Swiss lady, in regional peasant dress, wearing a straw hat, with flowers and holding a rose, on a hand painted enamelled plaque, in a beautiful handmade 18ct gold mount.
Typically Swiss enamels feature peasants in the regional dress of the Swiss cantons, or states. They were often made as tourist pieces for visitors on the Grand Tour.
The plaque is closed to the reverse in gold with a long gold pin with twist detail.
Era: Georgian, 1714 - 1837
